Stone County Hospital opened its doors to the citizens of the Wiggins, MS area in 1972 under the guidance of the Stone County Board of Supervisors. In the ensuing years the hospital went through a few owners and managers until 2001 when Corporate Management Incorporated of Wiggins working in conjunction with the Stone County Board of Supervisors, physicians and other community leaders worked toward the ultimate reopening of the hospital in July of that year.
Today, the citizens of Wiggins and Stone County have a modern 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with an emergency department that provides a physician and staff 24 hours a day for all emergencies. The hospital also offers a full line of primary medical services that include same day surgery, a fully accredited state of the art laboratory with the latest updated technology, a full radiology department with a newly acquired 16 slice CT scanner, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, echo EEG's, stress tests, respiratory therapy services and physical therapy services. Stone County Hospital offers the members of our community many of the same services and test that are available in larger hospitals.
Since the beginning, Stone County Hospital has promised personalized care and concern to all patients. The community is important to us. In the future we will continue offering and expand services and procedures, which meet the personalized needs of our patients, their families, and our community.
