- In addition, the department is fortunate to have a multi-slice state-of-the-art CT scanner available 24/7. The CT scanner can detect pathologies and view anatomic structures with unprecedented detail. The scanner offers multiple images for diagnosis, surgical planning, patient treatment, follow-up, and post-operative examination purposes. The speed of the system and fast acquisition time allow many studies to be performed in a single breath hold.
The Radiology Department also offers the flexibility for patients to take their radiology images with them to other referral centers or to specialist physicians. Patients can have their radiology exams scanned onto a portable compact disc if needed.
The Hospital's Radiology Department is happy to announce that new additions have made their way to the Hospital. A new CT scan machine (GE Optima CT660), a new fully-digital GE Mobile X-ray system, a new general purpose radiographic system and a new OEC C-arm. These new machines are a major step in helping Stone County Hospital and Clinic continue to deliver the highest quality health care, right here at home.
The Radiology Department is open Monday through Friday for scheduled procedures from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and they are available for emergency procedures 24/7. MRI available on Saturday by appointment only. For more information please call (601) 928-6640.
